Curious about New City Pressie? We’re a church plant of Westminster Presbyterian Church, situated in the far northern outskirts of Perth, Western Australia, and we have a simple, two-fold vision:
“To present Christ to everyone, and to present everyone in our church mature in Christ.”
We take this vision from the Bible, in places like Colossians 1:28 –
Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom,
that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
Why Not Come Along?
We invite you to come and join us to discover the promises of God in the Bible, which grant eternal life to all who repent and trust in Jesus Christ the Saviour (John 3:16). And in the meantime, we trust this website helps you to connect, and to find out a little more about New City, on things like what we believe, what we value, and what to expect.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are consistent with the ancient creeds that have guided the church for the best part of 2,000 years, and their richer expression in various reformed confessions of faith such as the Westminster and Belgic Confessions of Faith. In more modern language, we have articulated what we believe in a simple and orthodox Statement of Faith, according to the clear proclamation of Scripture.
What We Value
Because we are committed to being faithful to the gospel of our Lord Jesus, we want everyone to know and understand our spiritual DNA as a community of believers, and for that to be evident in all that we do together. To that end, we have identified seven points of church culture that we pursue together.
What To Expect
Our typical Sunday church service follows a liturgy anchored in the Word, sacraments and prayer. It runs for about an hour, and includes a call to worship, prayer, songs, a Scripture reading, a sermon to help explain and unpack that text, and the Lord’s Supper. We then enjoy another hour of fellowship tea.
You can find out more about our worship – both in terms of Sunday, and through the week – here.
And you can check out our approach to preaching through Scripture on our sermon feed – all our sermons are publicly available and can be listened to for free.
Anyway, you are welcome to just drop in and join us any time, to taste and see for yourself. And meanwhile,
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
(1 Thessalonians 5:28)
